Obituary of Steven Joseph Damore

DAMORE, Steven Joseph It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a great man. Steve passed away surrounded by family and friends on October 26, 2015 at the age of 58. Born March 17, 1957 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Steve moved to Windsor, Ontario at a young age. The East Coast and all his family located there always held a special place in his heart. Steve is survived by his wife, partner, best friend and partner-in-crime of 35 years, Jennifer, his daughter Sarah (Chris) and his son Michael (Tanya). He also leaves behind his father, Donald and brother Donnie. Predeceased by his mother, Beulah and brother David. He will be greatly missed by his 8 grandchildren; Josh, Maya, Seth, Spencer, Miles, Corban, Chase and Chance, aunts and uncles, especially Phil and Fran Melanson and Roger and Betty Damore, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and several friends that were like his family, including Rob Johnson and Helen Murray. Steve was a loving husband, Dad, Papa and friend to all. The family would like to thank the staff of 4 West at W.R.H. " Metropolitan Campus and the staff at H.D.G.H. " Dr. Y. Emara Centre. A very special thank you to friends Steve Coffin and Trish Hurst for their unwavering support and care. Memorial visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7234) on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Formalities out of the way, we would like to discuss the "real" Steve. He was a strong, intelligent and funny man. He enjoyed reading and debating everything. He enjoyed carpentry and fixing up old homes at his own pace of course. Even though we lived among several started, but unfinished renovation projects, he always made sure that the house still felt like "home" because above all else, Steve was a devoted family man. Nothing in life was more important than his family, not even his motorcycle. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com.
