Obituary of David Macdonald Campbell

It is with great sorrow that the family of Dave Campbell announces the passing of one of the Lords faithful sons, on August 31, 2014 after a brief but devastating illness at Windsor Regional Hospital Met Campus, in the compassionate care of the Respiratory Unit, in his 66th year with his family by his side. Precious husband of 40 years to wife Heather, and wise and comforting father to Dave (Marlene), Christie (John) Hammer and Katie Campbell. Proud grandfather to Christina, Andrew, Ian, Grace, Lily and Emmy. Reunited in Heaven with parents and sister Rosemary Smolinski. He will be greatly missed by sister Sharon Tomkins (Art), and brothers Clifford (Norlene), Danny (Paulina), Jim (Anne Marie) and many nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by the community as the dedicated Manager of Dack`s Shoe store for 32 years and past member of the Downtown Business Association. Long-time member of the prayer group, Roman Catholic Charismatic Renewal, music ministry and parish council of Most Precious Blood Church. Visiting will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Main Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Wednesday September 3, 2014 from 3-5, 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church (1947 Meldrum Rd. Windsor) from 10:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Donations made in memory of Dave to the Canadian Lung Association for the research into Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis are welcomed and appreciated by the family.
