What can a person say about Aunt Mary...the one word that stands out in my mind is steadfast. She was ALWAYS the same...always seemed to make the best of things, always had a smile and a hug, always took a genuine interest in your conversation, always keen to listen, and always caring about what others thought. This brings me to a funny story my mom (her sister Hilda) once told me, speaking of Aunt Mary at the time that she was a young bride. Apparently not yet quite adept with her cooking skills, she had burnt Uncle Orville's supper and after a lengthy quest to clean the pot - to no avail, decided she must put the useless cooking pot out to the garbage. Later, pondering what the garbage man might think... in her mind there was no way she wanted him to know that her cooking skills weren't 'up to par', she rushed to curb-side, with the entire set of pots and pans to put with the burnt one, so as to have him think she just had no use for them! What a lady! We never heard how she explained the missing cookware to Uncle Orv, but I'm sure it was just as funny a story! Hoping you can all fill your coming days with wonderful or humorous memories such as this, and turn to each other for comfort and support for your feelings of loss. You will be in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Kerry and Wayne Higman
