Both of my children had Donna for a grade one teacher at Victoria Public School. She was a teacher like no other. The countless hours that she spent prepping revealed itself in her classroom environment. Donna had the best field trips, (sculpture garden was our favorite) stage productions and Christmas tree crafts. ( Every year we still hang them all on the tree and we think of Mrs. Robillard!) Her passion for teaching was evident just walking by her classroom door as I did many times volunteering as lunch aid. She positively impacted so many young minds. She won't be forgotten by us parents who will always remember what she gave to our children. We pray that the love and support of family and friends help ease your heavy hearts in such a difficult time.

Chris, Kayla, Jarrett and Myah, We are so very sorry for the loss and pain that you are experiencing. Donna was such a special person and our family was blessed to have known her. She was a friend, a colleague a teacher and an example to us of how to live life. When she did something, she did it the best it could be done. From bulletin boards at school celebrating every students accomplishments to the birthday parties she hosted for loved ones, no detail was too small when it came to making someone happy. The keepsakes she sent home from school with our 3 children will be cherished by us forever, as will her memory. She was the example of a teacher, parent, sister, wife and friend that we strive to emulate. The void she has left at VPS and in our hearts is huge, and yet, it cannot compare to your loss of wife and mother. She will be missed sorely, because people like Donna come along so infrequently. May God bless you all, ease your pain and leave you with good memories of the beautiful human being that was Donna. Ted, Sheri, Teddy, Skye, Meagan and Kade McGeen

Donna was an awesome teacher to our children but also to us adults. She kept us informed and educated about the challenges, procedures, choices and details about facing ovarian cancer. Donna did not hold anything back and taught us that everyday was a gift no matter what we faced. Donna, I will miss your smile, your opinions at looking at things from a different perspective and most of all your constant drive for "doing it right, or why bother if you're not going to?". love Carol

Our hearts go out to all of you. Donna was a truly kind person, teacher and a fantastic Mom. She was so proud of her children. I will always remember when she came to our house with a card for Jordan from the class when his Grampa (my Dad) died. It was such a thoughtful thing to do but that was her. And I always remember the song she taught the children "It's a gift to be simple...It's a gift to be free" so true. May all the wonderful memories that you shared get you through the days ahead. Gone too soon......but they say he only takes the best!

I just wanted to let you know that Mrs. Robillard was the best teacher. I was in her grade one class in 2008/09 and I made a wish that I would have her as a teacher each grade of my life. I enjoyed participating in the play Circus Circus and all the fun learning activities we did throughout the year. Mrs. Robillard believed in the whole class and always there for you when you needed her. I will miss her very much. Thanks for being the BEST teacher!

You were an exceptional teacher. I am so blessed that both Julia and Alexander had you as their teacher in grade one. You inspired them to do their best and provided a learning environment that they both thoroughly enjoyed. I will treasure all the beautiful Christmas ornaments, CD's, books and activities you sent home with them. These things were made with love and care. Thank you.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Mrs. Robillard. She taught my brother (now 27), my sister (now 24), and me (21) all S.K at Victoria Public School. My siblings and I had lunch today and had a great conversation about this amazing woman and all that she taught us. I vividly remember her teaching me how to tie my shoes and memorizing my phone number. She has touched so many student's hearts during her career, and I will never forget her. The family is in my prayers.

Hi Chris, I'm so sorry for your loss. I never knew Donna was sick. I understand from Chris Herald on Facebook that Donna had ovarian cancer. I had breast cancer 4 years ago and I know that ovarian is a tough one to beat. I wish I knew 'cause I could've shared some resources that helped me. Please know that what I have learned about passing is that the other side is 100% better than this earth plane...Donna had no more work that was necessary here to do and she can now rest in ethereal peace. She is fine, make sure you and your kids get the counselling necessary to grieve this great loss to you or else you could get sick from this shock! THere's lots of help out there! It's better to talk about it than to keep it buried and bottled up. This causes the "dis- ease!" Mind/body/spirit are all connected, of this I am sure. Take care. We were very sad to hear of Donnas' passing....she was a very good and caring teacher....she was instrumental in helping to identify our little guy in terms of his learning disabilities and she worked patiently and persistently with him to continue to improve....she did not sit back and dismiss him or view him as unable to learn....rather she continued to push him at a level appropriate for his disability...she kept expecting him to work and move forward and we valued that approach and he has continued to benefit from his exposure to 'Miss Robillard'....indeed we still say in our house today ' What would Miss Robillard want ?'....education lost a very good teacher....our condolences to the family Sincerely Dave , Karen and Evan
