Obituary of William Russell White

White, William R, P.Eng, B.A. Applied Science December 1, 1942 - April 30, 2011 With his family by his side, it is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of William Russell White, beloved husband, best friend and soul mate " Lovies " of Linda Laura (Bennett) and adored father of Carrie and Alexander Innes, Stephen and Leigh-Anne White, and John and Micki White. Magnificent Grandfather and " Pa " to Aidan, Madeline, Abigail, Grace, Jack, Alexander and Nathan. Loved brother-in-law to Betty Murphy, the late Robert Murphy and the late Nancy Page. Son of the late Russell and Marjorie White, and son-in-law of the late Stephen and Catherine Bennett. Bill was a much respected and loved uncle to many nieces and nephews and best friend to Al and Kathy Rollo. A proud Queen"s University Alum with a B.A. of Applied Science, Cum Laude, (Class of "66) . As a member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Bill was a much respected and revered Professor in the Engineering Technology Department at St. Clair College, where he cherished the opportunity to share his wisdom and knowledge with every person he met. Bill"s greatest joy came from spending time with his family, always mentoring and guiding his children through life"s journey. He relished the private moments with his grandchildren. Always active with their creative and sporting endeavours. Pa always had the right response, never far from a whimsical anecdote. How he would stand back at a family get together and smile proudly looking over his legacy. The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors from the ICU and 6 north at Windsor Regional Hospital, Metropolitan Campus for their exceptional care and compassion. Our " Gentle Giant " touched and affected the lives of his families, students, and friends in lasting and meaningful ways. He always had a smile for another soul and used his intelligent mind to assist others in hardship. His counsel was wise, his heart enormous.
