All my condolences to your whole family. I always looked up to Barry growing up and his magnetic personality, grin and laugh will never be forgotten. One of the best athletes I have ever know and he had a personality to match without a doubt. From the basketball games at whitey's to the backyard hockey at your house, all great memories that I will carry with me forever. He will not be forgotten. All the best in this time of sorrow. Dear Ed and Janet, I remember our "Central School Days" fondly. Either Barry or someone in his group of friends always came to school with a ball under their arm. Once in a while the ball would get "roofed" and I recall this anxious group of eight or nine boys trying to convince one of our caretakers to climb up and get it for them - Johnny Gates usually did. On interview days I used to kid you both that you were just coming to hear all of the great things our teachers were going to say about Barry and Wendy. Let's face it - good parents have terrific kids. Bette and I send you our prayers and our deepest condolences. Sincerely, Bette and Doug Ferguson

Hello Ed, Janet and Wendy: My family and I were so shocked and saddened to read the news about Barry this week. I have many wonderful memories of growing up in his grade school class at Central School... I just viewed several pool party photos of our friends in grade 6 and Barry's funny poses/ antics brought me a few smiles. May you find peace in this difficult time. Sincerely, Michelle & The Hageniers Family

I'm so sorry to hear about Barry. As I'm sure you'd expect, I have a lot of very good memories, beginning in childhood and onwards, of him. I think back to the cold nights playing hockey on the backyard rink to sweating during the summer (most of the time he was nice enough to let me get my goalie equipment on before he started bombing slap shots at me). And there were a whole lot of other good times, too, outside of sports. He was a real good guy who will be deeply missed. My condolences, Nez

My name is Dorothy...I live across the street from Barry in Las Vegas. Barry was excited about his move, coaching opportunity and most importantly, being close to his family. I was happy for him, yet sad to see him go. He was a great neighbor. Know I'm sorry to hear about his call to play hockey on the "Big Rink" in the Sky... and that your family is in my thoughts & prayers. When time permits, please send information, so I may participate in honoring him with a donation to Assist Putting Kids in Hockey.
