Obituary of Patricia Anne Mallender

MALLENDER, Patricia (Nee Douglas) 82 years. Passed away peacefully on January 22, 2009 at Oak Park Terrace, LaSalle surrounded by her loving family. Life partner and best friend of the late Ted Mallender (2004). Loved and adored by her children, Gary and wife Liz Mallender of North Vancouver B.C., and Janis and husband Wayne Pearce of Saint John N.B. Dear mother-in-law of the late Paul Grannan. Patricia will be sadly missed by her five grandchildren, Mitch, Carlee, Buzz, Chris and Jamie with one great grandchild on the way. Beloved sister of the late Joan Douglas-Bird and husband Gerald. Dear sister in law to David and wife Joan Mallender of Colchester. Dear aunt of Scott, Craig, Janet, Leslie, Karen, Bill and Ron. Pat was a member of the Colonel Pearson Chapter of I.O.D.E. Hospital, and a past Board Member of I.O.D.E./Windsor Regional Hospital, Western Campus and was a life member of Essex Golf and Country Club. Pat was very much a people person as evidenced through her involvement with numerous committees at Oak Park Terrace in LaSalle, and her charitable work throughout the City of Windsor. She thoroughly enjoyed golfing, swimming, curling and playing bridge. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Sunday, January 25, 2009 from 12 noon until time of Funeral Service at 3 p.m. in the chapel. Archdeacon Ron Matthewman officiating. A private burial will take place on Monday, January 26, 2009 at Victoria Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
