Obituary of Stanley Wallace Garlick

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stanley Wallace Garlick at the age of 92. Stan is survived by his loving wife, Shirley, of 71 years. Dear father of Ken (Patricia), David (Linda), and Janice (Gary). Grandfather to Andrew (Veronica), Sam, Adam and Max. He has one great-grandson, his joy, Nathaniel. Survived by several nieces and a nephew. Predeceased by his parents, Robert and Velma and his siblings: Donald, Walter, Velma and Reta.

Stan was a proud firefighter for the Windsor Fire Department, serving for 33 years. There’s also a good chance he installed or serviced your garage door if you live in Windsor. He and Shirley had a long retirement, enjoying many outings with their dear friends Bill and Eleanor Johnson, with whom they shared a lifelong friendship. He was a long-time member of The Church of the Ascension.

The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the 4th floor North, Windsor Regional Hospital, Met Campus for their care, as well as the staff of Shoreview Retirement Home for their care, concern and patience over the last several years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Windsor Firefighters’ Benefit Fund.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3048 Dougall Avenue (519-253-7236) on Monday, January 27, 2025 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral service will take place in the chapel on Tuesday, January 28 at 1:00pm. Interment to follow at Victoria Memorial Gardens.
