We got to know Fr Len when he was sent to enriched the lives of us who live in North Perth. Taught us true spirituality, some mean guitar rifts, and the glories of Black Russians. An amazing friend and honorary brother. Our sincere condolences to his family. That man will be missed.

Condolences to the family, saddened to hear about the passing of this beautiful soul.
“Ease your grief, he is not gone, For in your heart, he lingers on. His smile, his laugh, his special way, Will comfort you, from day to day. You’ll feel his presence in the breeze, That dances gently, through the trees. And it’s his face that you shall see, When you’re in need of company. At any time, you can recall, The love you shared…you saved it all. And in time, more than anything, You’ll find peace in remembering.”
Rest easy Leonard….Annette(Cecile) Duquette

Heartfelt condolences to father Leonard’s loving family. I remember father Leonard, especially from his childhood days. He and his family lived one block over “around the corner”. He was a laughing, fun loving, smiling guy. I used to babysit he and his brothers and sisters. A very lovely family. May he rest in peace with the Lord. Love and prayers. Anna Beaulne ( Sargis).

To Fr. Len’s Family
I have know Fr. Len since his time at Most Precious Blood Parish - He was such a great Man. Funny, great at Decorating the Lord’s House, Courageous in his medical fight . The last time we saw him was for dinner at the Windsor Yacht Club. We laughed so much that night and then unfortunately we had to settle for communication through Email. The last email I got was when his Father died . He will be missed but he no longer has to suffer. R.I.P. Fr. Len

I had the pleasure of working with Fr. Len at St. Theresa’s. I assisted him with decorating as I was Sacristan and I was amazed at his talent. I also fed him a few times and I quickly learned he didn’t like peas. I am sad to learn that he is gone but at the same time happy to know that his suffering is over and he is reunited with his parents at the same time. Until we meet again, Fr. Len……Dianne Martin

Leonard & I knew each other in our late teens, as we were both involved in COR retreat weekends & he was one of several friends who entered the Priesthood. I lost touch with him as the years past... but my memories of Len will always be of him as a young lad who loved people, silly fun & good jokes. Back in our younger days, Len was one of the people (long before he was Father Desjardins..) that friends would look forward to seeing, as he always had a way of making us feel glad we were there with him. It was a shock for me to learn (from Fr Paul Kim..) on Rememberance Day that Fr Len was gravely ill & then that he had passed a few days later. Heaven's gain is our loss. RIP Leonard... you were taken from us far too soon.

So very sad to hear of the passing of Father Len. We knew him from his time in Sarnia and always appreciated his talents, warmth & sense of humour. He was exactly 1 month older than me, something I would always fondly remind him of on his birthday ☺️. Will keep him and all his family members close in our thoughts & prayers.

Deepest Condolences to Fr Len’s family,
Fr Len hired me as a Coordinator of Youth Ministry for Sacred Heart Church in Sarnia in the summer of 2001. We had a wonderful collaborative working relationship and over a very short period of time we became close friends! Len was always so supportive of my efforts and it was a privilege to be a part of his lay team under his leadership! I was always amazed by his many creative talents. A favourite memory was when he would sing ‘ Veni Sanctus Spiritus’ for Pentecost and Confirmation. He had a lovely singing voice! Fr Len had a wonderful sense of humour and I always got a kick out of his laugh! I consider myself blessed that I was able to do ministry alongside Fr Len for 10 years….RIP my friend
