Mark, I am so sorry. Velma was one of a kind. It was so inspiring to see how much you both loved and respected each other. I often think of our days at HW and all the work lessons that I learned from Velma. She didn’t even know that she was teaching me things!! She will be missed.

From the Allied days and before that the Hiram Walker Inc days, I have always had great respect for Velma. We crossed paths on projects and processes and her work ethic and project management was impressive. Very few colleagues impressed me the way Velma did and I truly liked her and was glad to work with her over the years. So I pass my condolences to Mark on this sad news.

Mark-Diane and I want to express our deepest condolences to you. Velma was a wonderful work colleague and a good friend. During my tenure at Hiram Walker, Velma was one of my trusted colleagues who could always be counted on to do a great job. We miss the get togethers we used to have including at your home in LaSalle and in Michigan with Tony and Susan, but we are happy for the memories of those times. My family and I met you and her in June 2009 for the first time and noted the special love between the you of two. Yr deepest words written now can show everyone how strong was it for so many years.
