Obituary of Perlita Caday
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Perlita (de la Peña) Caday on January 16, 2024, at the age of 75. Beloved and devoted wife of Ricardo A. Caday, Jr. for over 51 years. Cherished mother of Rachelle Frias and Ricardo (Katelin) Caday. Loving Lola to her grandsons: Koah, Kai, Myles, and Reid. Daughter of the late Amada (1980) and Tito (2005) de la Peña. Most loved eldest sister to the late Darlito (2000), the late Rodrigo (2014) and wife Amalia, Myrna and late husband Edward Doria (2013), Lani Concepcion, and Tita and late husband Reynaldo Uy (2020). Daughter-in-law of the late Anastacia (2014) and Ricardo Caday, Sr. (2017) and sister-in-law to seven Caday siblings and spouses. She will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Perlita was born on October 1, 1948, in Balaoan, La Union, Philippines as the eldest of six. Graduated in 1970 from the Chinese General Hospital School of Nursing in Manila. After graduation, she started working as a staff nurse at Lorma Hospital in San Fernando. She then moved to New Orleans, LA in 1972 and eventually landed in Windsor, ON. She worked as a dedicated nurse for many years and finally retired from Detroit Receiving Hospital.
Throughout her life, she worked hard to support and take care of her family and extended family. She will always be remembered as sweet, giving, and kind.
The family would like to give special thanks to the Windsor Regional Hosital - Renal Program for the years of care and attention that she received from their staff, nurses, and doctors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Windsor Regional Hospital Foundation - Renal Program Fund in honour of Perlita Caday.
If you wish to send floral tributes, please have them delivered to WCFH – Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd E.) the day prior on Sunday, January 21st, 2024.
Visitation will be held at St. John Vianney Parish Church on Monday, January 22nd, 2024, from 9-10am with funeral Mass to follow at 10am.
