To the Spicer family,
Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Dick.
It was wonderful that we were recently able to share Jon & Lisa's special day together with your family.

Dear Ann and family - It was a privilege to work with Dick at The Windsor Star. His journalism was unimpeachable. And outside the office he was very generous in teaching me the ins and outs of creating web pages. With condolences, Brian Bannon.
Ann, Andrew and family, I'm saddened by this news. I've many warm memories of social gatherings with Dick and his enthusiasm for technology. I still associate the early days of the Internet with him (modem dial-up sounds and the local BBS scene / Deck Six).
With condolences, Matthew M
I had the honour of working with Richard both as a contributing writer to The Windsor Star and in the Journalism program at St. Clair College. He was a very hard worker and dedicated to his craft. His humility, guidance and kindness will remain with me forever.
Very sorry to hear about Dick's passing. He was a talented journalist, terrific newsroom colleague and a true gentleman. RIP Dick.

We were saddened to learn of Dick's passing. It was an honor and plesure to be one of his colleagues at The Windsor Star for most of his career there. He was a talented reporter, respected by his colleagues, and a steady hand on the tiller in a sometimes chaotic newsroom filled with many egos. Our condolences to Ann and the rest of the Spicer family.
Dick was one of my professors when I studied journalism at St. Clair (2003-2005.) He always had a smile and kind hello and his zest for the profession is something I've always remembered. He gave it to you straight and was never one to sugarcoat. His media law class is a class I'll never forget. It was an honour to have learnt from him. Condolences to his family. Rest peacefully, Dick.
I fondly remember Dick as a colleague and friend during my own tenure at The Windsor Star. Dick was always available for advice and encouragement during those often tumultuous years, a steady hand throughout. He was an "old-fashioned" print reporter who dug deep into stories without bias, and even got arrested once in the pursuit of news (he was released without charges.) My condolences to his family and friends.
