Obituary of Margaret Bodnar

BODNAR, Margaret It is with broken hearts that we announce the calm and peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on June 22, 2008 at her home, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 86 years. Beloved wife of the late Julius Bodnar (1985). Loving and very generous mother to Marje Balatoni and husband Julius and Nanci Burrows and husband Darryl. Predeceased by all family members in Cicerovce, Slovakia. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer, Michael (Amy) Balatoni, Krystal and Kyle Mosonyi and Vanessa Burrows, who will all miss mama's delicious soups. Very special great-grandmother to Charlie Balatoni, with whom she was privileged to celebrate his one week birthday. Margaret had a special place in her heart for Tamas Mosonyi. Margaret was a strong and courageous young woman to venture from her small village in Slovakia to Canada in 1947 to start a new life with her husband Julius Bodnar. Margaret enjoyed her career working and helping people at Metropolitan Hospital. In her later years, Margaret loved her family, her home, her gardens and her friends. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., on Tuesday June 24, 2008 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Prayers Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. from the Windsor Chapel, then to St. Anthony's Hungarian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Margaret will be reunited with her husband Julius at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
