Obituary of Dora Colella

It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother Dora. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 16, 2023, at the age of 88.  Born in Goriano Sicoli, Italy on Sept 15, 1934.  Daughter of the late Geremia and Maria DiStefano.  Loving sister of the late Lino (Gemma) DiStefano and Luigi (Maria) DiStefano.  Loving aunt to several nieces. Loving and devoted mother of Patrick (Pam), Tony (Filomena), Maria (Vito) Ruisi, and Gino (Luisa). Dora loved spending time with her grandchildren who were her pride and joy. She was the cherished and adored Nonna of Gabriel, Julia (Scott), Christina (Joy), Joe (Kiki), Sara (Scott), Sandra (Nik), Vince, Michael (Kristy), Joseph (Tamara), Laura (Jordan), and Daniel (Melanie). Beloved Bisnonna of 17 great-grandchildren and a new great-granddaughter in July. Above all, Dora will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She loved feeding us her delicious meals and was overjoyed that we never left hungry. Her gnocchi, homemade pasta, lasagna, and pizza were loved by all.  A Sunday visit guaranteed you a delicious piece of her marble or ice cream cake, as well as her amaretti and biscotti cookies.  The family extends its sincerest gratitude to Dr. Kyle Fiorini for his superb care and support. Mom thank you for all that you sacrificed for us. We thank you for your unconditional love for all of us. We love you always and forever. Sei sempre nei nostri cuori. 

Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Road East, Wednesday, April 19, 2023, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will take place at 8:30 pm in the chapel. A funeral mass will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at 9:30 am at Holy Name of Mary Church (Our Lady of Assumption). Interment will take place at Heavenly Rest cemetery following the funeral mass. In memory of Dora, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
