Obituary of Kamilo Nuic
NUIC, Kamilo
It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Kamilo, a loving husband, father and grandfather, on March 6, 2023 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband and soulmate to Danica (nee Pandzic) with whom he celebrated 51 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to Joe Nuic and David (Ivona) Nuic. Cherished "Dida" to Lea and Gabriela Nuic. Adored brother to the late Dara, Jaka, Rudo, Tomislav, Ante and surviving Olga. Kamilo leaves to mourn many family and friends in Bosna and Hercegovina, Croatia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Canada. He was a life long friend and "kum" with Rajko Buconjic and the late Dominik Majic. Dear friend to Andrija Kasun. Special "Striko" to Zoran Nuic to whom he treated as a son of his own.. Kamilo became a plumber by trade and expressed great passion and joy in doing so. No job was too big or too small. Kamilo retired as a pipefitter from the General Motors Transmission Plant after 25 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus - Kardinal A. Stepinac Council 11774 and the Croatian National Sports Club of Windsor. Kamilo was a hardworking, honest and friendly man who took great pains to earn a reputation as such. When he wasn't working, Kamilo enjoyed watching soccer and playing "buce". He also enjoyed visiting his relatives in Croatia and Bosna Hercegovina. His legacy is best described in his own words by one of his favourite sayings, "Znam kad radim da ne grijesim". Kamilo worked hard his entire life and now it's time for his well earned "heavenly rest". Friends will be received for visitation at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree prayers at 4:45 p.m. and Parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 9:45 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church (1701 Turner Rd.) for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
