Obituary of Joseph Doumani
Joseph Alexander Doumani (81 years old) passed away peacefully in the presence of family on Sunday March 19th, 2023 after living a fruitful, spiritual, and graceful life. A beloved husband of 57 years to Vivian (Nee Baker). A proud father to Alexander and Samantha of Brantford, the late Valerie of Toronto (2010), Peter of Winnipeg, Theresa of Squamish, Michelle Jane (1973) and Desiree of Golden. Joe was a loving grandfather to Dion, Nick, Reece, Kaine, Allison, and Anthony. Along with his 37 years of teaching for the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board, Joe was known for following his passions and interests in film, drama, and sport. When he was not teaching his students History in a classroom, he was directing them on stage through various play productions. If there was one passion that Joe was known for, it was his love of Hockey and his favourite team- the Detroit Red Wings. His devotion to the sport led him to the various games and drafts across North America while keeping an eye on the local teams, regularly attending events like the Father Zakoor Cup and Spitfire games. When he was not travelling for the sport, he was certainly watching each game in his office, (that held upwards of 10 televisions). Joseph was a loving and caring soul that inspired family, students, and friends alike. He will be dearly missed. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - Banwell Chapel (519-253-7234). Visitation will take place at Parish of the Atonement (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Joe to the Downtown Mission of Windsor. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
