Dear Chy, Sydney, Colin, and Samantha--my heart goes out to you on the loss of your wonderful husband and father. Jim and I loved spending time with all of you in Mabou Harbour, and I treasure the memories of Collie's birthdays at Catherine & Collie's house, with John Gillis on the guitar, and Colleen, Kevin and all their crew making merry. Gerard was so kind, friendly, easy to talk to, and easy to hang out with--he made all the good times better. Jim relished the memory of that fishing trip with Gerard and Sydney when the thick fog rolled in and Sydney and Gerard made sure that little boat got safely back to port. I know his memory is a comfort and you are all strong together. Sending love to the whole family.

Cheryl and family; most sincere sympathies and condolences for your loss.
I worked with Gerard since he started at WUC; I was an inspector and he was a utility man.
When the "water hit the fan" it was a great comfort to see him and a few others pull up to make the requisite repairs; you knew it was going to be okay.
Always funny and joking, always pleasant, smart guy, smart worker, so dependable - the adjectives go on and on.....
I retired a few years ago, but would always run into him somewhere in the city or on a job site - so great to catch up on "things".....one of the great ones..... gone far too soon.

Words cannot express our sorrow at the sudden passing of Gerard. We had the pleasure of knowing him and his beautiful family for over 30 years. We met through mutual friends and baseball and as our families grew our kids played sports together, went to school and this past July we had the pleasure of attending Samantha and Tristan’s wedding. Gerard was a true family man and friend and we know he will be deeply missed. Sending all our love and prayers to Chy, the kids, the Lachine and MacDonald’s.

I knew Colin as Gerard, on and off the ball diamond for around 30 years. He was always a gentleman, very friendly, kind and courteous. We got along very well, even though I was an umpire and he was player. He never showed any anger about a call if he didn’t like it. We often had a drink together after games and had fun after the mid season tournaments in St. Joachim on Father’s day weekends. I always respected him as a person and a family man. My condolences go out to Chy and your family. He will be missed.
