Obituary of Richard James Marion

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Rick. Dear husband to Amy (Goble). Loving father of Eric and Adam. Adored son of the late Richard (1997) and Christine (Van Lith); cherished son-in-law of Ken and Lynda Goble. Survived by his grandparents Louis and Florence Van Lith as well as his brother Scott (Ricki) and brother-in-law Daniel Goble (Kate). He will be dearly missed by his nephew Alex, niece Mikayla and his many family, friends and co-workers. <br/><br/>Rick was a man who loved to keep his mind challenged and had several hobbies. Building computers, 3-D printing, stargazing, photography, RC car racing and gardening were his favourites. His happiest moments were spent sharing these hobbies with others, especially his two sons. One of Rick’s proudest accomplishments was reaching his 25th year as a CenterLine Ltd. CNC Machinist. He loved his workplace and the friends he made there. Rick was a generous man who was always ready to lend his possessions or give of his time to help others, whether it was volunteering to set up sound systems for school events or playing tech expert to family and friends. At the end of his life, as an organ, eye and tissue donor, he gave the most precious gift anyone could give. Rick was an affectionate, present, caring father and husband. His hugs were warm and strong and always there in times of happiness and trial. <br/><br/>In keeping with Rick’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 7pm. A Celebration of Richard’s Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Windsor Centre).
