Obituary of Linda Marie Drouillard

DROUILLARD, Linda Marie (nee McNorton) July 1, 1948 – January 28, 2021 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Linda after a brief battle with Covid-19 on January 28th at the age of 72. Linda was the loving wife of Raymond for 53 years and will be greatly missed by Ray and their daughters Dawn (Mike) of Windsor and Tammy (Trevor) of Sault Ste Marie. Much loved grandma to Dustin (April), Cheryl (Justin) and Tyler (Nadine); great-grandmother to Megan, Nathan, Kiera, Olivia, Lily, Nicholas, Hunter, Rowan, and Ryder. Predeceased by her parents Harry and Louise McNorton, sister Virginia and Tom, and parents-in-law Aurele and Jeannette Drouillard. Survived by her sister Dorothy and Bert (Deceased). Linda was the loving sister-in-law of Rick and Mary, Carol and Gary (both deceased), Len and Keri, Joyce and Jim, Wally and Angie, Kathy, Laura and Jim (deceased), Grace and Joe, and Monica and Dennis. Linda will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Linda spent many joyful hours sitting in front of the sewing machine making her family beautiful curtains, bedspreads, and clothing. She could not pass a fabric store without stopping to look for her next project. She also loved playing Bingo with her friends and later doing puzzles. Most of all, Linda loved her family. Some of the most enjoyable memories are camping and four-wheeling while she wore, AND made the rest of the family wear, the most ridiculous 'fishing' hats. She was generous, kind and considered a “best friend” by many. The family would like to thank the ICU nurses and doctors at the Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus, who risked their lives to take great care of Linda and helped her feel less alone in isolation. Using technology, they allowed Linda to hear the voices of her loving family through video chat; reassuring her she was not alone and helping to ensure the most peaceful transition possible during these difficult times. Donations in Linda’s honour may be directed to the Canadian Lung Association, 210-3041 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON N9E 1S3. As per Linda’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel (SOUTH CHAPEL) 3048 Dougall Ave., 519-253-7234.
