Dear Uncle,
unfortunately we didn't see each other much - but I always have the great uncle from overseas in my memory, as a child your visits home were always something very special. May you sleep in peace wherever you are now.

Wolfie.....I hope you were proud of all you accomplished since coming to Canada. I'm sure those early years weren't easy, but it shows the strength and determination you had, which you carried your whole life.
I always enjoyed visiting with you and Ellie and seeing your humourous side. You always took an interest in how my kids were doing and that meant a lot to me. I'm sad to know you won't be there when I come to visit next.
You will be missed.

Condolences to the entire Grohs family. I remember so many good times with Wolf when we were kids — getting bread pretzels, going to a Wings game or one of the plants or showing my dad a better beer. He will be missed.

I will never forget the lessons you've taught me. They've carried me through childhood into adulthood. Wolfgang, my Opa, I am glad to have known you. You never sugar coated anything to me; you were blunt and honest, and I have an endless amount of respect for that. I enjoyed trying to make you smile, a hard earned task, but your laughter made it worth it.
I could write so much more, but I won't. I will forever cherish our bond, and I will pass on your love for life to everyone I can.

Carol and I and a very young daughter Kate, soon followed by Claire, met Wolf and Ellie through business in 1984.
Our friendship developed and over the next 38 years we enjoyed great times with the Grohs family.
Best friends and wonderful memories (and hundreds of photos!).
Wolf you will always be in our hearts.

It is with deep sadness that I read in the paper about the death of this fine man. I came to know him through a landscaping job that I had in the mid to late 1980's. He was such great man to work for. From the tool & die industry, he said he knew of my father. Mr. Grohs gave me a job when I really needed it, and I remember him for this still today. Although this was 35 years ago, I still remember how great it was to have worked for him on that contract. May he rest in peace.

Sending my condolences to Eleonore and family. I knew Wolf for more than 20 years. He was a special client of ours. He meant business when he came to see us. Always straight to the point and then, when the business was taken care of, he would chat a little. He cared about all of us and we cared about him. He always came in, in a rush, always lots to do. He knew if he came by the office, the candy jar on my desk would be waiting for him and maybe some home made cookies if he showed up on the right day. Wolf, you were one of our favourites. You will be missed. Jenna O'Neil

Dad;
It is hard for me as I write this. Thank you for all your advice and all you have taught me throughout the years. I wouldn't be the man, husband and now a Grandfather without your guidance. You always taught me that family comes first and to never forget that.
Now you can rest peacefully and enjoy Cognac with Uncle Max!
Thank you Dad and I love you and miss you very much.

You were a tough cookie with a gruff exterior but a kind heart. You werent big on showing emotions, so when you told me you loved me and shed tears, I saw the true you. You always said, "I don't know what I would do without you", it was my honour and pleasure to have helped you when you needed it. You will be missed!! Rest in Peace Papa.

There are so many cherished memories of Opa that I'll carry with me. He taught me to appreciate the best parts of life -- good food, travel, the simple joy of lounging in the backyard on a summer day and a moonlight swim in the evening.
We'll miss you, Opa.

Our Opa was a smart, kind, funny, and incredibly generous man. He was, without a doubt, the hardest working person I have ever known. Even in his later years, he continued to persevere through any complication or challenge that came his way.
As I now say goodbye to not only my Opa, but a teacher, a handyman, a lover of the arts, food, and wine, and, above all else, a caring man, I will forever carry him with me.
I love you Opa

In life we always try to prepare for times like this. It still is hard to let a loved one go.
My Father was a humble man who came to this Great country with a suitcase and the clothes on his back. He created a life for himself and most important for his family. He ensured we were never without, but taught us the meaning of value, love and respect.
Most important he taught me to be the person I am today, and I am most proud and thankful of that gift.
You will be missed dearly.

Dear Dad,
As I write this I am full of tears, some of them for joy, and some for great sadness. You have taught me so much through life, from learning how to fish, how to ride bike and most importantly how to never give up no matter how hard things get. I am going to miss you so much, even during the past few years as life for you got harder you still were concerned about our well being over your own. It is now time for you to rest, you are in Heaven with a bottle of food wine and story to tell. I love you Dad and will never forget you.
