My Dear Michelle, and Johnson and Tolen Families: I am deeply sorry for your great loss of Candice. My prayers and thoughts are with all of you. And to dear Ariadne, Mom, now watches over you now from the Heavens above...every day and every night. She will be in awe as you grow. Losing a Child is such a great loss, let alone a parent. We met Candice before she settled down, after we'd had our first two kids. She was always fun and sweet to our children, fascinated by their "anime" eyes. We kept tabs through Facebook, as we both had (more) kids and our lives changed, and we both advocated for similar causes and shared our politics. We are so saddened to hear that she's passed. We will always remember her as energetic, passionate and happy. Our condolences to her family. Shannon & Dan Porcellini

We always need payed the periphery game when it came to our weird friendship. I often looked forward to your messages keeping me abreast of how life was going. You were always doing something good, and I respected that. You were a force to contend with, and I know how hard you fought to stay in this mortal coil… now that you are free of pain, a relief has fallen over me. It is a small silver lining for the loss. I will always donate to animal shelters in your name♥️ To her family… I send you my love, and condolences during this time of grief. The only thing I can say is to let the tears come, and choose to let it go, and run through you. It is a process, which we all enter differently. Great love? Carly

I only met Candice and Kevin once in Montreal at an LP show I believe. She stood out to me with her charming nature and smile. We stayed in touch a bit but I knew she was a special soul. My sincerest condolences to Kevin and her entire family.

I met Candice through an Ottawa new mom group when we were both pregnant. We went to several events when the babies were small and kept in touch online as they got older. I was always impressed with her gentle parenting style, she was a natural mother. Her love for animals and her dedication to social justice were always apparent. I am so terribly sorry that she left so soon and the world is darker without her.
