Obituary of Athanasios Klaras

Athanasios "Tom" Klaras<br/>Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on January 24,2021 at 70 years of age. Loving husband of Sophia (nee Nanou) with whom he shared 47 years of marriage. Beloved father to Nektarios. Dear son to the late Vasilis and Ourania of Greece . Loving brother to the late Thomas of Greece. Dear son-in law to the late Evangelos Nanos and Magdalene Nanou of Greece. Athanasios will be sadly missed by his sisters and brother Fanio, Athanasia, Argyro, Sofia, Ilia and Maria of Greece. Loving brother in- law of Thomas, Dimitra, Panagiotis, Vasilis and Despina of Greece. Dear cousin to Stergio, Olga, Vasiliki and Georgia of Windsor and Sarnia. He will also be missed by his dear friends here in Windsor along with many nieces, nephews and cousins in Greece. Athanasios retired from National Radiator after over 30 years of dedication. He was also a member of Unifor Local 195. He was a member of Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church and served the church on council and as the treasurer for many years. He will be remembered for his love of hunting and playing cards with his Greek friends at the Greek Cafeneio. He will be remembered as a well respected man in the Greek Community. A private family visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel), 3048 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-253-7234 followed by a private family service at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church. Interment will take place at Windsor Memorial Gardens.
