Obituary of Lubov Darija Kosak

<br/>Kosak (nee Kobziar), Lubov "Luba" Daria<br/><br/>1926-2021<br/><br/>Windsor, ON<br/><br/>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Luba, who peacefully entered the Lords Kingdom. Luba was a resident at Villages of Aspen Lake. Predeceased by her husband Theodor of 62 years.Luba will be deeply missed by her three daughters & son-in-laws: Juliane & George Wonsul, Martha & Andy Usztan, Olga & Zenon Nimeck & step-daughter Christiane Redies and family. She is survived by 6 grandchildren, Mark (Kim) Wonsul & Roman (Katie) Wonsul, Boris (Christina) Usztan & Tamara (Erik) Allison , Damian (Oksana) Nimeck & Andrew Nimeck and 8 great-grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings Mak, Yuri, & Petro Kobziar and Xenia Glass and families. Survived by brother-in-law Ihor and Anesia (Zirka) Kozak and family. She will be sadly missed by family in Ukraine, England, Germany and Australia.<br/><br/>Luba was born in Koniuchiw Ukraine, married the late Theodor Kosak in 1949 in Regensburg, Germany and then immigrated to Canada in 1951 settling in Windsor ON. Luba worked as a waitress for United Grill, Tunnel BBQ and Chicken Court. She later worked as a salesperson for Smith’s of Windsor (for 16 years) then as an Assistant Manager for Pennington’s, (for 5 years) until retirement.<br/><br/>Her extracurricular activities were numerous and dear to her heart. She volunteered at the Met Cancer Clinic for 7 1/2 years, belonged to the Ukrainian Womens’ Organization of Canada, where she was President for over 15years. During that time she established a Scholarship for local Ukrainian Students to attend<br/><br/>University or College. Luba was a member of the Canadian Business and Professional Association and a lifelong parishioner of Sts. Vladimir and Olga Ukrainian Catholic Church.<br/><br/>Luba was known to her family and friends for her Ukrainian embroidery, singing in the church choir and educating her community about her Ukrainian heritage.<br/><br/>She was also a very generous and giving person, helping new immigrants in any way possible, sending care packages to Ukraine and organizing fundraisers through the Ukrainian National Federation in Windsor.<br/><br/>May her adopted Canadian land be her resting place and her soul find eternal happiness with the Lord, in his Kingdom.<br/><br/>The family wishes to thank all the caregivers who cared for our mother through her stay at the Villages of Aspen Lake especially through the COVID crisis. They are angels and heroes.<br/><br/>In lieu of flowers, donations are welcomed to the Scholarship that Luba established for Ukrainian Students.
