Obituary of Castrenza Pirrone (nee Chisesi) 91 years

With broken hearts, we sadly announce the passing of our cherished Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. Reunited with the love of her life Sebastiano (March 2007) and precious infant daughter (1952). Born in Alcamo, Sicily and predeceased by her parents Giovanni and Margherita and infant brother Vito. Cherished Mother of Nancy and Isidoro Raneri and Marg and Bill Spadafora. Loving Grandmother of Giuseppe and Laura Raneri, Daniela and Jon Ribu, Anthony Spadafora, Melissa and fiancé Scott Sheppard. Stella will also be missed beyond words by her cherished Great-Grandchildren Maliha, John, Massimo, Aria, and baby Sheppard (on the way). She will also be missed by relatives and friends in Alcamo, Windsor, Hamilton, and Florida. Stella worked at the Elmwood Hotel for many years. Devoted to her catholic faith, she recited her precious rosaries daily and truly believed in the power of prayer. Towards the end of her life, it was this that gave her the strength and courage to endure, especially during these COVID times. She loved to cook and bake and would share her delicious recipes with all her friends. She had a talent for sewing and knitting and enjoyed the beauty of flowers and plants. Stella would always want to know how her grandkids and great grandkids were doing on a daily basis. She loved her family so very much. Many thanks to the staff at Season’s Royal Oak Village (LaSalle) where she made new friendships in the last 2 years – It’s never too late to make friends in life. Thanks to her caregivers from St. Elizabeth’s and to Lynne (She often spoke of your kind and loving care). Our thanks are also extended to her healthcare team at Met Hospital (4 North) for their care provided during her brief illness. Stella’s memory and values will live on, for all that we have loved becomes a part of us. We will carry her precious memories in our hearts as we continue on in this journey of life. Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Please call Windsor Chapel to RSVP for a scheduled visitation time period. You can call between the hours of 8:00 am – 4:00 pm to schedule a time. Due to the Covid pandemic and current lockdown restrictions, a private service will take place for the family on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 10:00 am in the chapel. Private entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. A memorial mass for all family and friends will be held at Stella’s parish St. Angela Merici at a later date.
