Peacefully entered the gates of heaven and gained her wings Tuesday morning, November 30, 2021 in her 98th year at St. Joseph's Villa in Dundas, Ontario with her daughter Betty, granddaughter Kay and great granddaughter Danelle by her side. Betty was born in Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 1925 with her parents, Joseph Hermann and Elizabeth Wetzel and Tony her younger brother. Betty is originally from Harrow, and farmed with her husband Steve and four children. Betty is predeceased by her loving husband Steve. Betty is survived by her children: John (Diane) Kordyban, Belmont; Robert (Marion) Kordyban, Thamesford; Betty (Allan) Calvert, Ancaster; Mary (Charles) Jee, Windsor. She will be deeply missed by her precious five granddaughters, four grandsons; her nine great granddaughters and five great grandsons. Betty was the matriarch of the Hermann family, the oldest of six children, and is predeceased by her younger brothers and sister: Tony (Jean), Essex; Henry (Madga), Barrie; John, Essex; Paul, Michigan; Anna (Charlie) Scott, Midland. She is predeceased by grandson (John Dudzic), two nieces and one nephew. She is survived by her sisters-in-law: Genevieve Hermann, Essex; and Betty Lou Grant, Michigan. Mom will be deeply missed by her beloved children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, nieces, great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and associate in Canada, USA , and Hong Kong. On the Kordyban side of the family, she is predeceased by in-laws: John and Anna Kordyban (Bilan) and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Olga (Mike) Kosty, Windsor; Sylvia (Fred) Sinewitz, Windsor, and Mary Kordyban, Michigan. She is predeceased by two nieces and two nephews. Mom was a loving, resourceful, independent, and community minded person. Her faith always sustained and guided her in good and difficult times. Mom was a member of St. Anthony Parish in Harrow, and earned her 50th year membership pin from the Catholic Women's League. Mom loved to do crafts, baking, canning, crocheting, skills, all of which she passed down to four generations. Mom also enjoyed travelling and fishing. Mom will deeply be missed by all her living relatives on both sides of the family. Mom is at peace now, and enjoying coffee with her many friends and family members who have gone before her. Rest in peace, and we will hold you in our hearts forever. During the past 12 years of her life, mom lived in the very caring and family oriented St. Joseph's Villa Nursing Home in Dundas. We would like to thank the many loyal, all caring staff on Maple Grove, 2nd floor and for treating mom like their own mother, especially the PSWs Joy, Stacey, Louisa and RN's Marcia, Kathy, and Jonlynne. Also, for Dr. Hugh Boyd for his excellent care which allowed the family to treasure the time we had with mom.
