Obituary of Eleanor "Ellie" Smith

SMITH, Ellie (nee Eleanor Garant) Passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her husband Wilfred (2007) and son Russell (1980). Survived by daughters Cathie Smith and Peggy Laliberty (Ron), and sons Douglas and Gregory. Cherished grandmother of Michele Laliberty, Kelly Anderson and Carly Vair. Dear great grandmother of Hunter, Logan, Ellie Jean Vair and Alex. Also predeceased by her 7 siblings; Pearl Levesque, Levina Thibert, Leona Brunet, Norman “Lefty” Garant, Dorothy McDonnel, Jeannette Smith and Margaret Jacques. Over the years Ellie sang with the Windsor Symphony Choir, was soloist with the Windsor Community Choir, and her church choir. For the last 35 years, she also delighted in teaching Duplicate Bridge to retirees, so they might join others in playing the game she loved. She was also a bowler and golfer. She was laid to rest by her immediate family in a private service. Arrangements entrusted to Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234.
