Born Maria Augusta Del Pup on July 18, 1950 in Cordenons, Pordenone, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy to Angela “Angelina” Del Zotto (1980) & Virgilio Del Pup (1984). Left us on November 2, 2021. Beloved best friend and wife of Ernesto “Ernie” Lira for over 49 “wonderful years”. Daughter in-law of the late Valentino (1995) & Maria Lira (2000). Mother and rock to Jennifer Lira & husband Cory Carter, Gregory Lira, and Natalie & Randy McCloskey. Nonna would do anything for her adored grandchildren, Patrick & Victoria McCloskey. She even came to adore her fur grandbabies, Blu (2020), Lloyd and Kobe (2021). Sister of Erminio “Ernie” Del Pup. Sister-in-law of Gianni “John” (2016) & Simone Lira. Zia Maria of Craig Lira, Marc Lira & family, Carly Del Pup and Daniel Del Pup. BFF and “sister” to Marilena Piasentin. Our lives have been shaped by her kindness, sense of humour and fierce love for each of us. Our lives have been forever changed with her passing. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Visitation at Windsor Chapel (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234, on Sunday, November 7, 2021 from 1-6 p.m. All are welcome. A small private service for immediate family and dear friends will be held on November 8, 2021. Cremation to follow.
