Obituary of Wayne Marchand

Passed away peacefully at Regency Park on January 9, 2021 at the age of 73. Predeceased by his first wife Bonnie (nee Theriault 1978) his second wife Elizabeth (nee Belle Smith 1984) and his cherished companion Ida Ruthven (nee Grassi 2013). Proud brother to Barbara Robinson and lifelong friend to Gerry Reaume (Lila). Dear father of Paul (Michelle Arpan), Peter (Connie Arpan), Lisa (Terry LaChance), Joe (Dawn), Brittney (James Kollinger). Adoring grandfather to Zack (Kristi), Michael, Natalie, Dallas, Hayden, and Juno. Loving step grandfather to Ella and Layla Girard. Wayne also touched the lives of many stepchildren over the years. A dedicated and hard-working man, Wayne most enjoyed his positions at Windsor Drywall and Tecumseh Lumber. He was always the first one in and last one to leave and if he wasn’t making orders, he was giving them when managing the yard, or out delivering them. Wayne was a founding member of the 25ers CB club and went by his CB handle “Super Chicken” until it folded. Sundays were spent watching NASCAR as he was Dale Earnhardt and Kevin Harvick’s biggest fan. As team captain of the “Steamrollers” at Bowlero he could always be heard yelling “you’s was robbed” whenever someone only hit 9 pins on Sunday evenings. If the WWE was in Michigan, you would find Wayne there as he was an avid wrestling fan. A loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Wayne could be counted on to call his kids during and after the game to talk about it. He loved his family with his whole heart and would do whatever he could to protect and provide for them. The family would like to thank the staff of Regency Park LTC especially the second-floor nursing staff. Without them, we may not have been given the extra time with him we that we had. Thank you also to Windsor Chapel staff for making this process as easy as possible. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wayne made to Fight like Mason Foundation for Children’s Cancer research and The Muscular Dystrophy Association, would be greatly appreciated by the family. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL (central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 4-8pm. Please call the funeral home between 8:30-4:00pm to book a reservation.
