Obituary of Edda Spadafora

SPADAFORA, Edda (nee Rose) 

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Edda Spadafora on Friday, August 6, 2021. Reunited with her husband Giuseppe Spadafora (2011) and survived by her children Sandra, John (Monica), and Silvana (Dino DiMenna). Proud Nonna of Sabrina, Anthony, Vishnu, Cassia and Joey.  Predeceased by her parents Giuseppe Rose (1944) and Olimpia Rose (1985). Dear sister of Domenico Rose (1959), Benita Rose (1949), Maria Martino (2021), Italo Rose (Georgette) and Marcello Rose (Uga). She will be missed by her in-laws from the Mazzenga and Spadafora families, as well as many good friends. Born in Grimaldi, Cosenza, Italy on June 18, 1939. She studied to be a seamstress in Italy and emigrated to Windsor in 1959. She was dedicated in everything she was involved in, from being a seamstress to her connections in the Italian community and above all, to her family. She was a kind, sweet and gentle woman, who touched everyone's soul with her warmth. She will be greatly missed by all. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00pm. A private Funeral Mass for the immediate family will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave). Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Catholic Cemetery. Masks are required for attending visitation. Reservations are not required to attend the visitation on Tuesday. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the exceptional care of Dr. Kanjeekal and the Cancer Centre Team, as well as the Palliative Care staff at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that if you so wish, donations in memory of Edda may be made to the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre.
