Obituary of Darinka Erdeljac

ERDELJAC, Darinka (nee Junc)  
November 24, 1932 - May 22, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Darinka Erdeljac at the age of 88, with her loving husband at her side.
Loving wife to Nikola with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on January 28th, 2021. Cherished mother of Daniel Erdeljac and Jasmin (Michael) Dmytrow. Proud Baka to Kayla (Tylor), Maddie, Ryan (Jenn) and Olivia, adoring great grandmother (Babi) to Haileigh, Ethan and Jacob.  She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.   
Darinka was born in Vukova Gorica, Croatia, to Barbara and Karlo Junc. Dear sister of Barbara Lorkovic, Boza Dukovcic, late Ana Seljan and late Drago Junc. She immigrated from Croatia to Canada in 1958 with nothing but the great love and devotion she shared with her husband Nikola. Together they built a beautiful life filled with many wonderful memories of hosting endless gatherings & celebrations with family and friends.  Darinka was a vibrant beautiful soul whose life’s primary focus was her family.  She was a caring, selfless, and compassionate woman who welcomed anyone and everyone into her home as she genuinely enjoyed cooking and baking for all those who came. She will be fondly remembered for her love of dancing and singing with her husband, gardening, and fresh flowers as there was always a bouquet on her table. Her loving and giving spirit will always be remembered and missed.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our entire family, friends, and neighbors for all your devoted support and kind gestures. A special thank you to all the Nurses (Laura, Sarah and Dave), PSW’s (Jasvir, Kathy, Sylvia, Karen and Ola), Hospice of Windsor (Dr. Rukavina and nurses), and especially to Dr. Jeff Price, for many years of dedicated care.
Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East, (519) 253-7234 on Wednesday, May 26th  from 2-4pm and 6-8:30pm, and Thursday May 27th from 2-4pm and 6-8:30pm.  A private Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 28th at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Reservations and masks are required to attend visitation, Funeral Mass and Cemetery Services. Please call Windsor Chapel between the hours of 8:30am and 4pm to secure your reservation.
