Obituary of Carmela Riccardi

Carmela (Melina) Riccardi It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our loving Mom and devoted Nonna who passed away peacefully on January 1, 2021 at the age of 82. Reunited with her beloved husband, Nicola (2002). Loving mother of Saverio and Tracey Riccardi, Michelina and David Haug, Mary Riccardi, Anna Rita and Dave Renaud, and Lisa and Joe Oldridge. Carmela will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Nicolas (Amber), Sergio, Michael, Lorenzo and Alicia Riccardi, Katrina (Geraint) Bryden, Nicolas, Mathew (Rebecca Campoli) Haug, Mikayla and Noah Renaud, Nathan, Colin and Andrew Oldridge. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Sergio Pappagallo. Dear sister of Caterina (late Salvatore) Lopez and the late Nicolette Pappagallo. Dear sister-in-law of Antonia and Vincenzo Adamo, predeceased by late Leonardo and Maria Riccardi, late Santa and Frank Urbano and late Suor Maria Riccardi. Special cousin of Rosa Liddi (California). Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Her life passion was cooking and baking for her family and hosting large family gatherings. Carmela retired from General Motors Trim plant and was a member of the Madonna di Carmine, St. Joseph and the Puglia Club. Carmela was a devout Catholic, to which she dedicated so much of her life. Above all, Carmela’s unwavering love and devotion to her family, especially her children and grandchildren whom she loved so dearly, will never be forgotten. A special thanks to all the staff at Huron Lodge for their loving care and support. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234 on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 7 -9 p.m. and Thursday, January 7, 2021 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Reservations and masks are required to attend visitation. Please call Windsor Chapel between the hours of 8:30 and 4:00 p.m. to make your reservation. A private Funeral Liturgy will be held with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made in honour of Carmela to the Alzheimer's Society of Windsor or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Condolences may be left at www.windsorchapel.com.
