Obituary of Mary Yamich

A gentle golden heart has stopped. Our beloved Mama, Baba Mary passed away on Sunday, November 17. Now reunited with her beloved husband Tony Yamich (1989) with whom she celebrated 50 years of blessed marriage. She will be forever loved by her daughters, Katie (Jerry) Penava and Nada (Frank) Pavicic, and her beloved grandchildren Rosanne (Paul), Debbie, Christine (Rob), Laurie (Rob), Sandy (Mark), Franjo (Tina) and Nick (Elizabeth), and her precious great grandchildren Ellen, Julia, Luke, Ilija, Colin, Ivana, Sara, Anthony, Kate, Alana, Grace, Duncan, Noah and baby Leah. Mary was born in Siroka Kula, Lika, Hrvatska to Petar and Pepa Oreskovich. She was the dear sister of Katie Erent (John) and Marko Oreskovich (Pat). She was a much loved strina, teta and friend to many. Mary was a devout parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church, and a very proud member of the Croatian Community. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Shoreview for taking such loving care of our Mary. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234., on Friday, November 22, 2019 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm. Parish prayers Friday at 8pm. Funeral Service on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at 9:45am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Mary, memorial donations may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
