Obituary of Giuseppe Vitale

Vitale, Giuseppe (Joe) August 12, 1938 - October 19, 2019 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Giuseppe Vitale at the age of 81. Reunited with his parents Girolamo (1982) & Francesca (1987) Vitale. Survived by his wife Rosaria of 56 years. Loving father to Jerry Vitale, Fran Spadafora (Bill) and Vince Vitale (Erika). Cherished grandfather to Pamala Delisle (Jeremy), Joseph Vitale (Rebecca), Christina Vitale, Jessica and Christopher Spadafora, Anthony and Sara Vitale. Loving great-grandfather to Aiden & Avery Delisle. Survived by his sisters Maria Palermo (Salvatore), Mattia Buscemi (Melchiore), Vincenza Sangiorgi (Giuseppe) and Rita Galatioto (Alberto). Predeceased by sisters Giuseppa Pecora (2005) (Paolo) and Rosaria Palmeri (2019) (Domenico 2016). He will be missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Vito Taranto (Diana), Giuseppe Taranto (Angelina), Maria Faraci (Isidoro 2016), Robert Taranto (Maureen), Nancy Olivito (Sam 2008) and predeceased by Rosa Catanzaro (2018) & (Vito 2014) and will be missed by many nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy. Joe was a retiree from the Ford Motor Company after many years of dedicated service. For 19 years after retirement Joe became a familiar face at Good Life Fitness Center meeting up with his “gym buddies” 6 days a week for workout, a swim or just to hang out. The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and support team from Windsor Regional Hospital, Windsor Regional Cancer Centre and Hospice Residential Homes during his final days. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234, on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church for 1 hour prior. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In memory of Joe, donations may be made to Hospice Residential Homes (Windsor Campus).
