Obituary of Maria “Menghetta” Corsi

CORSI, Maria Domenica “Menghetta” (nee Vozza) March 29, 1919 - July 7, 2019 In the comfort of her home, surrounded by loving family, peacefully left this earth and entered into life everlasting. Dear wife of the late Antonio (2002). Cherished mother of Luci Barlozzari (Frank) and Marilena Corsi. Beloved Nonna of Robert (Trisha), Michael and Bianca. Bisnonna to Gabriella, Vincent, Emma, and Noah. Born in Casalvieri, Frosinone, Italy, the 5th of 14 children. Survived by sisters Antonietta Rocca (Onorio) of Windsor, Carmela Macioce (Vincenzo) of Italy, Cesidia Acchione of Italy. Predeceased by siblings Louisa Leone, Emilia Abaldo, Caterina Acchione, Assunta Muscedere, Franzina Abaldo, Onorio, Pietro, Vincenzo, Giovanno and Mario (surviving wife Michelina Vozza). Will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews. Menghetta was a woman of great strength, courage & faith. She lived through World War II and endured many hardships before leaving her beloved homeland in 1955 to pursue a better life in Canada. She will be remembered for her devotion, love and generosity towards her family, relatives and friends. She was an inspiration to us all and her memory will be dearly cherished in our hearts and thoughts forever. The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Dr. Dattilo for his care and kindness through all the years and to LHIN, the VON nurses, and PARA MED for their care and support over the last three months. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234, on Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Prayers Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services Thursday July 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. from the Funeral Home, then to St. Angela Merici Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
