Obituary of Mary Hoppa

HOPPA, Mary June 15, 1932 - January 15, 2020 It is with breaking hearts that we announce the passing of our mother quietly at Extendacare Southwood Lakes, Windsor, ON. Mother of Pat (Jim) Niziolek, Marlene (George) Grignano, and Mark Hoppa. Proud babcia to Brittany, Olivia and Adam Buckley. Mom to her fur baby Zackie. Predeceased by her husband, Albert S Hoppa (2005), son, Stephen "Stevie" Albert (1961), and parents Sofia & Roman of Poland. Also predeceased by sister Bernice Nowicki (2014) and brother Ted Jacobs (1994). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Winnipeg and raised in St. Catherines & Windsor. Graduate of Patterson HS. She was always involved in her community including being an active member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Women's League, Border Cities Polish Canadian Club and the Ladies Auxiliary Air Force Club of Windsor. Special thanks to the staff at Extendicare Southwood Lakes for your care in making our mother comfortable over the past two years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234, on Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Prayers Sunday at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, January 20 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1035 Ellis St E. at 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Saint Alphonsus Roman Catholic Cemetery. In memory of Mary, memorial donations may be made to The Poppy Fund, Royal Legion 143. A Memorial Service will be held in Mississauga in the near future.
