Obituary of Gordon Roland Trussler

TRUSSLER Gordon Roland January 7, 1929 - May 14, 2019 Gordon Roland Trussler 90, of Windsor, died peacefully in hospital. Born in Kirkland Lake, Gordon was the youngest child of Grace and Roland Trussler Gordon was active - he was an avid skilled skier, he loved taking his family on adventures in and around Nova Scotia, to the cottage in Kirkland Lake and, with their move to Windsor in 1974, all the museums and cultural shows available. He loved gardening and was an amazing innovative chef. Gordon worked most of his years in insurance starting with life and then owning a general brokerage. In his 50’s he obtained his real estate license and spent many years listing homes (Valente) and then taking photos for listings. He struggled with Alzheimer’s in his later years but always seemed to have a funny witty line on hand. Gordon lived a full life. He was loved and will be missed. Gordon is survived by his children James (Christina), Charlotte, Donald, Patricia Howe (Patrick), daughter-in-law Helena; his 12 grandchildren James (Ernesa), Diana (Eric), Joana(Josh), Kathryn (Gilles), Paul (Mia), Marc, Ryan, Christian, Jessica, David (Samantha), Jennifer (Matthew), Steven; great grandchild Logan, and one on the way; sisters-in-law Helen and Mary; Jim and Molly Turner. He was predeceased by his dear son Michael, his beautiful wife Joan, his parents and 4 siblings, James, William, Donald and Laurine (Sage). Visitation at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Banwell) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd E at Banwell Rd, on Friday May 24, 6-8:00 pm with prayers at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Saturday May 25 9:00am at Our Lady of the Atonement (2940 Forest Glade Dr), until time of funeral mass at 9:30am. Cremation and reception to follow. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses, doctors, and RT’s of the ICU and 6th floor of the Windsor Regional Hospital-Metropolitan Campus.
