Obituary of Donald Stewart Greatrex

Passed away peacefully on May 4, 2019 at 83 years of age. Loving husband and best friend to Gerri (nee Banks) with whom he shared almost 60 years of marriage. Beloved father of Randy and Susan (James) Meloche. Proud Papa of Aaron (Amber), Tarah, Jordon, Sierra, Kassidy, Alexis and Great-Papa to Noah, Aadon, Austen and Alyvia. Predeceased by his brother Gary (surviving, Jean). Don will also be sadly missed by sister-in-law Jessie Cahill and his nephews and nieces. Don was a retiree of GM Trim Plant, where he had over 25 years of dedicated service. He loved fishing, having a good time and spending winters in sunny Florida. Don was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Tigers. He also enjoyed all the years spent at Pine Lake in Bayfield, Ontario and leaves behind many close friends and family that will miss his smile and laughter. A special thank you to all the staff at The Village of Aspen Lake for their care given to Don. Memorial visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Friday May 17, 2019 from 10am until time of Funeral Service at 11:30am. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or The Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated by the family.
