Obituary of Ana Pudar

Ana Pudar (Tokić) of Windsor, Ontario, age 78, died on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Windsor Regional Hospital- Metropolitan Campus from complications due to a heart attack. Ana was born in Veliće Croatia to Pavao Tokić and Jela Veronika Tokić (Burić) . She immigrated to Canada when she was only 20 years old to marry her fiancé, Ante Pudar. Although their courtship was through letters across the ocean, they spent the next 57 years together. Her parents instilled in her an amazing work ethic which she applied to her many years as a seamstress at the GM of Canada Trim Plant in Windsor, retiring 19 years ago. Ana loved every part of nature and literally wouldn’t hurt a fly, instead shooing them out of our home, back out to their “home”. She saw beauty and joy in everything and everyone and gave generously to those in need. She lovingly placed flowers from her garden on her kitchen table from spring through first frost; carnations were her favorite and always brought a smile to her face. She received any gift, large or small with total joy. Above all, she loved Jesus and cherished her family. She is survived by: her beloved husband, Ante Pudar; children: Nick (Pam) Pudar of Farmington Hills, Michigan and Johnny (Tracey) Pudar of Calgary, Alberta; grandchildren Paul (Rebecca) Pudar of Calgary, Alberta, James (Melissa Cho) Pudar of Sunnyvale, California and Julia Pudar of Farmington Hills, Michigan; great grandchild Oskar Pudar of Calgary, Alberta; and her sister and best friend, Jaka (Stipe) Pudar of Tinley Park, Illinois. Special thanks to both the Windsor Emergency Response Team and the ICU Staff at Windsor Regional Hospital for working so hard to try to save Ana, and then keeping her comfortable and pain-free at the end. They are truly our unsung heroes. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Monday April 22, 2019 from 3-5p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Monday at 8 p.m. Funeral Service Tuesday April 23, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
