Obituary of Mario Spadafora

SPADAFORA, Mario Passed away peacefully on December 8, 2018, at the age of 86 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Cherished husband of 59 years to Domenica "Mimi" (nee Eusani) . Beloved son of the late Andrea and Teresa Spadafora. Loving and devoted father of Marisa (Vito Lipari), Anita (Boris Mihalic), Dino (Vesna) Spadafora. Adoring Nonno of Elisa (Ian) Scott, Genni (Christiaan) Meyer, Thomas Lipari, Danielle Mihalic, Eric (Chelsea) Mihalic, Evan Mihalic, Alexa Spadafora, Lucas Spadafora. Bis-Nonno (Great-grandfather) to Carter and Beau Mihalic, Cecelia Meyer. Dear brother of the late Rosina (late Pietro) Borrelli, the late Virginia (late Emilio) Felice, the late Pietro, (Maria) Spadafora, Luigi (late Clorinda) Spadafora, Emma (Vincenzo) Vigna, Giulia (Francesco) Perri, Salvatore (Elvira) Spadafora, Rita (Salvatore) Ferraro, and the late Ida Spadafora. Dear brother-in-law of Sam & Lina DeRose, Domenic & Connie Stramacchia and Pina & Vito Beato. Mario also leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved and cherished. He will also be missed by many cousins and friends. Mario retired from the General Motors Transmission Plant after 37years of dedicated service. He was a proud member of the Caboto Club, Alpini Association and St. Ippolito Society. Our family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers from St. Elizabeth and CCAC. Special thanks to Linda, Claudette, Scott and Katie. We are forever grateful for your kindness, care and compassion. Today the earth lost one of the kindest, sweetest of men, A true gentleman who was a dedicated husband, father and friend. His life was all about his family. Dad always taught us to look for the good in people and that character was more important than the status. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519.253.7234 on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 2:00 " 5:00 pm and 7:00 " 9:00 pm. Parish prayers Wednesday at 4:30 pm. Funeral Service on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at 10:00 am from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave. at Erie St. E.) for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Mario"s life, memorial donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Healthcare or the Cardiac Wellness Centre at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare.
