Obituary of Carla Girardi

GIRARDI, Carla (nee Genovese) We are saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Carla Girardi (nee Genovese) on July 29, 2018, 5 days short of her 94th birthday. Carla embraced her life with strength, courage and dignity. Dedicated wife of 44 years to Orlando Girardi (1994). Proud and loving mother of devoted daughter Raffaela Ron Azzopardi and son Romeo Gerty Girardi. Dear nonna of Steven and Erin Azzopardi, Melissa and Johnny Biancanello, Sarah and Chad Fenwick, Laura and Byron West Paul and Danielle Girardi. Bisnonna to Nathan, Avery, Onyx. Remembered by friends and family in the Veneto region of Italy. Carla was a proud member of the Caboto Club Italian Women's Auxiliary, Trevisani Nel Mondo and was a volunteer at the Windsor Cancer clinic for many years. Carla enjoyed many years of travel throughout Canada and the US and her many winters in Acapulco. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and spending time with family and friends. She was a faithful member of St. Angela Merici Church. The family would like to thank the teams of caregivers at Oak Park Terrace, Season's Amherstburg - Memory Ward, Leamington Memorial Hospital and Hospice Windsor for their outstanding care and compassion. E. 519 253-7234 on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel, with entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor-Essex County or Alzheimer Society Windsor-Essex County.
