Obituary of Romeo Persichilli

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Romeo on October 29, 2020 at 70 years of age, surrounded by love after a courageous and valiant fight against brain cancer. Predeceased by his parents Pasquale and Ersilia. Dear son in law of John Easby and Carol Zavitz. Loving husband and best friend of Shelley (nee Easby) with whom he shared 12 years of marriage. Cherished and adored father of Patrick Persichilli and Leanne La Civita and husband Gabe. Dear stepfather of Sarah Troup and Heather Mullins and husband Leigh. Treasured and much loved Nonno of Alexander, Anthony, Marco, Lia, Brayden, Liam, Ada and Lewis. Dear brother of Pina Walsh and husband Brendan. Uncle of Aiden. Romeo retired from Ford Motor Company after 35 years of dedicated service and was a proud member of CAW- Unifor Local 200. Throughout his life, Romeo could be found volunteering with the Optimist Club of St. Clair Beach, coaching youth sports and always lending a helping hand to friends, neighbours’ or anyone in need. He was also very proud of his heritage and was a British Sports Car enthusiast. Above all, his unwavering love and devotion to his family and community, will never be forgotten. A special thank you to Dr. Hendy and Dr. Alex Tsiaprailis for their exceptional care and to the doctors and nurses at the palliative care unit at the Dr. Y. Emara Centre. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 519-253-7234, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. East on Sunday November 1, 2020 from 1-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service Monday November 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Cremation to follow. Masks are required at visitation and Funeral Service. Reservations are required to attend the Funeral Service. Please call Windsor Chapel at 519.253.7234 between the hours of 8:30am and 4:00pm.
