Obituary of Giacomo Antonio Aversa

AVERSA, Giacomo Jack August 6, 1928 " January 26, 2018 Passed away peacefully at 89 years of age. Reunited with his loving wife Teresa (2001). Loving father of Tony, Sandra, Linda and Sandro. Will be greatly missed by his grandchildren who loved him dearly: Natalie, Kevin, Alexandra, and Bianca, Connor and Sarah (along with their father Sean). Great-grandfather to Mackenzie and the newest family member baby Quintin. Predeceased by his parents, Nicola and Santa Aversa and Carlo and Domenica Liburdi. Survived by his sister Maria and predeceased by his siblings Chiarina, Marianna, Angelo, Gianbattista, Antonio Raffaele. He will be missed by his sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws and his many nieces and nephews. Giacomo was a resident at the Royal Marquis for the last two years and will be missed by his many friends. A special heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers at the home. Giacomo retired from General Motors in 1992 as a mechanic. A welder by trade, he was a man of many talents, literally a "Jack of all trades" as he was known. He used his skills to help countless family and friends in the community. Our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Met Hospital for the compassion and care they showed our father. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 10:30 am in the Chapel. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers and to honour Jack's life, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Hospice of Windsor or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
