Obituary of Slavka Ladislava Matos

Reunited with her beloved husband John (2000) and her two children Rosemary (1977) and Ivan (1949). Loving mother to Frank (Carolyn), John (Cathy), Marlene (Joe Edmondson pd. 2015), and Andy (Mary); all of Windsor. Cherished grandma to 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Survived by her dear sister Milka Fister. Slavka is predeceased by her brother Stan (Vida) Korosec, sister Frances Gachnik, as well as family in Slovenia. Our mother will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, masterful sewing skills, and delicious home cooking. She was an active member of Most Precious Blood Church and the St. Vincent de Paul Church Choir. Her personal qualities included compassion to others and her deep devotion to family, all rooted in her strong Christian faith. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers at 7:30 pm. Friends will be received on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd., Windsor) for visitation from 9:30 am until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to all the staff at Extendicare Tecumseh for their loving care of Slavka "Ladi".
