Obituary of Mario Mauro Costantin

COSTANTIN, Mario Mauro It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Mario, a loving Husband, Dad, Nonno and friend on October 12, 2017, surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 80. Loving husband to Olga (nee Baziuk) with whom he celebrated 54 years of beautiful marriage. Proud and very much loved, Dad and Father in-law to Robert Costantin (Mary), Michael Costantin and Sandra Holmes (Scott). Cherished and adored Nonno to Nikko, Zakkary, Dominikk, Alexis, Nicolette and Aleena. Predeceased by brothers Ricardo (Ida) and Ferrucio. Survived by nieces Manilla, Romina and nephew Ezio and families; all of Italy. Mario immigrated to Canada in 1957 at the young age of 20, to better his life. In 1959, he met the love of his life, Olga, whom he married in September of 1963. Thereafter they began raising their young family of three children. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed his annual hunting excursions with his many friends. He also enjoyed soccer, watching his favourite team Inter Milan and watching Formula 1 racing. He took great pride working in his garden. Mario was the proud founder and owner of M.C. Colonial Cabinets and Millwork until his retirement in 2005. He was a 50 year member of the Fogolar Furlan Club of Windsor. Mario enjoyed his time spent with family but, his greatest pride and joy were his beloved grandchildren. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at WRH-Ouellette Campus Cardio Cath Lab and CCU for their care and compassion provided to Mario and his family. A special thank you to Dr. Soong, Dr. Bagga and Dr. Peer for the exceptional care provided to Mario over the many years. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Avenue, 519-253-7234 on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers Sunday at 7:30 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet directly at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum Rd.) on Monday October 16 , 2017 for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers and to honour Mario's life, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Windsor-Essex County, Kidney Foundation of Windsor or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
