Obituary of Mary Geraldine Egan

EGAN, Mary Geraldine "Gerry" (Nee Grier) Passed away peacefully and beautifully with her loving family by her side on July 25, 2017, at 96 years of age. Reunited with her husband Harold (1994). Cherished and adored mother of Carl, Michael (Linda), Maureen Kirincic (Vlado), and Shirley. Loving grandmother of Mary (David), Ann (Nick), Donna (Scott), Michael (Rachel), Matthew (Erin), Richard, Brian (Heather), Karen (Marshall). Great grandmother to Corbin, Jessica, Nicole, Katie, Marcus, Kyra, Hayden, Madeline, Maeve, Anna and Cullen. She is survived by her sisters Jean Reaume, Mary Musselman, and Leona McNamara. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well as her best friend Eva Bedard. She is predeceased by parents William and Catherine Grier, sisters Sr. M. Carmelita Grier, Bernadette Lazarus, Margaret Armaly, Gladys Ziraldo, and brothers, John, Leonard and James Grier. Our Mother looked forward to her special lunch and card dates with her sisters. Mother was a member of a number of euchre card clubs throughout her life. She especially enjoyed her many trips with her family and friends. She was a volunteer at Devonshire Seniors Residence for many years. Mother was a member of Holy Name of Mary Church since 1930. She served as a Eucharistic minister as well as numbers of church committees. We will cherish our memories within our hearts. We would like to thank the staff of Chateau Park Long Term Care Facility for the exceptional care that was given to our mother. Visitation will be held at the WINDSOR CHAPEL (South Chapel) 3048 Dougall Ave. 519-253-7234 on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 3-5 and 7-9PM. Parish prayers at 7:30PM. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish " McEwan Campus (711 McEwan Ave) for a Funeral Service at 10AM. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery (5005 Howard Ave). As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to the Downtown Mission or Hiatus House.
