Obituary of Ana Biscan

BISCAN, Ana (nee Benkovic) After a courageous battle, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ana, a loving Wife, Mother and Baka on January 18, 2017 at the age of 74 years. Born January 22, 1942 in Bost, Duga Resa, Croatia to late parents Petar and Kata Benkovic. Ana immigrated to Canada in 1966 where she married the love of her life, husband Josip Biscan, with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage. Loving and most dedicated mother to her children, Vladimir Biscan, and Josip and wife Jill Biscan. Ana is the adored and cherished Baka to her grandchildren, Taylor, Megan, and Adam Biscan. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Mihalic of Windsor and late husband Mato, Marija Gojak and husband Ivan of Croatia, and predeceased by her brother Ivan Benkovic and surviving wife Ana of Croatia. Also survived by nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. Ana retired from the former Tamco Manufacturing with 26 years of dedicated service, and was a faithful and devout parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Windsor Regional Hospital, Ouellette Campus for the compassionate care provided to Ana and her family. Friends will be received for visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519.253.7234 on Friday, January 20, 2017 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers at 8 pm. Funeral Services on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at 9:15 am from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 am. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to honour Ana's life may be made to St. Francis of Assisi Church Building Fund, Kidney Foundation of Windsor or Windsor-Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation.
