Obituary of Lina Fiorino

FIORINO, Lina (nee Veltri) Passed away on November 25, 2016 at Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital Palliative Care with family by her side, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of Luigi for 66 years. Loving mother of Pasquale (Martha), Maria Teresa Harris (Bill), Annarita, and Pierluigi (Suzanna). Cherished nonna of Joseph, Katherine, Michael and Christian. Lina was born and raised in Grimaldi, CS., Italy, she immigrated to Canada in 1961 with her two children to build a life with her husband. She was the epitome of the Italian mother and nonna. Family, friends, cooking and her Catholic faith were central to her life where she was a devoted member of the Legione di Maria. She was strong-willed, but loving, welcoming and engaging to family and friends. She had a talent for knitting, crocheting, needlepoint and a passion for travelling and seeing the world with Luigi. She is now on her last journey and has gone to be with her Lord and Saviour. Predeceased by four sisters and four brothers. She will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234 on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers Monday at 4:30 pm. Funeral service on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 8:45 am. from the funeral home to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Avenue) for a Mass of the Ressurection at 9:30 am. Entombment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the HDGH Palliative Care or to the Canadian Liver Foundation.
