Obituary of Maritsa Mary Kekkas

KEKKAS, Maritsa (Mary) (Nee Tsicolas) Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family at her side on July 7, 2016 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of 70 years to Stavros. Cherished mother of Savas and Martha Kekkas, Dean Kekkas, Christine and Mike Margaritis, Vivian Simon-Kekkas and John Kekkas. Loving Yiayia to Stella, Maria, John, Stavros, Maritsa, Mary, Tammi, Tom, Nicholas, Ashley, Amy, and Christina. Predeceased by Joanna. Dear Great Yiayia to Michael, Valasia, Elijah, Abigail, Hermes, Hestia, Ume, Tai, Koto, Kaya, Konstantino, Michael, and Caris. Dear sister of Stergos and Manoli. Predeceased by Kirannia (George) and Agapitoula (Donald). Also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins in Canada, USA, Australia, Belgium, Germany and Greece. Maritsa was a member of the Greek Orthodox Community of Windsor since its inception, Plato, also the Philoptochos Society of Holy Cross Windsor. She was also a "Colossus" member of the Rhodian Association of Windsor/Detroit. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (East Chapel) 519-253-7234 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday July 11, 2016 from 7-9p.m. Prayers at 8:00p.m. Funeral Service on Tuesday July 12, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church (65 Ellis St.).
