Obituary of Gisella Feregotto

FEREGOTTO, Gisella (nee DeCecco)
January 1, 1932 - September 1, 2020

It is with very heavy hearts that the family of Gisella Feregotto announces the peaceful passing of their mother, nonna and bisnonna in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Alfredo Feregotto (2015), loving mother of Antonietta Spina (Joe) and Diana Feregotto. Gisella was the very proud nonna of Katharine (Todd) McMullin and Julia (James) and Thomas Kittner, and cherished bisnonna of Avery and Tessa McMullin.
Gisella will be missed by her sisters Maria DeCecco (late Silvio) of Windsor, Caterina DeCecco( late Silvio) of Italy, and Mirella Dell’Agnese (Romeo) of Switzerland, and her brother Renato DeCecco (Ivanda) of Windsor. Predeceased by brothers Guerrino( late Vilma) and Pietro, and sister-in-law Elena (late Antonio) and brother-in-law Antonia all of Italy. Very special Agne Gisella to many nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Braulins, Italy and Switzerland. Gisella fostered and maintained many wonderful friendships with people from her work life at Tunnel Bar-B-Q and Windsor Textiles. With her late husband, Fredo, she enjoyed similar friendships with the Furlan and Italian communities in Windsor.
Gisella was born in Braulins, Italy and was the daughter of the late Daniele and Santa DeCecco. She travelled to Canada and arrived in Halifax in May of 1953. Along with Fredo, she built a life in Canada, but never forgot her Italian heritage. Gisella was a woman of many talents. Her vegetable garden, year after year, provided food for her family and friends. Her gardens were her joy and lifeline. She was a talented seamstress and provided many knitted slippers to her dear family and friends. She was an excellent cook, and you could always count on her to make your favourite meal whenever you visited. Gisella was happiest when she was working and sharing.
The family cannot thank Dan and Arlene DeCecco enough, her nephew and niece, who provided her with so much support and care. We are forever grateful. Also, a special thank you to all who made an effort to stop by and chat.
Friends and family are invited to visit at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Main Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Road East on Friday, September 4, 2020 from 3 pm to 5 pm and 7pm to 9 pm. Maximum capacity 60 people; please wear a mask.
Private Funeral mass to be celebrated on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at Most Precious Blood Church, Father Greg Bonin officiating.
Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
In kindness, donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com.
Ti vogliamo bene mamma, le vostre figlie e famiglia
