Obituary of Stanley Antoni Niec

Passed away on May 31, 2016 at his home, at 89 years of age. Beloved husband of deceased Mary Niec (June 24, 2015) with whom he celebrated 58 years of marriage. Cherished father of Elizabeth, Anne (Tony Barberi), Diane (Ryan Hindmarsh), and Mark (Tammy Atherton). Loving grandfather of Gloria, Carson, and Michael Barberi. Dear brother to 11 siblings of which 3 remain living in Poland. A beloved uncle to numerous nephews and nieces in Poland and North America. Stanley was a pinnacle leader in the Windsor Polish Community. He endlessly donated his time and energy to the following: Dom Polski , Polish Veterans, Holy Trinity Polish Church choir, Carousel of Nations, Polish Olympic Committee, Polonia Park, and supporting Polish immigrants. Stanley was a survivor of WW 2 concentration camps. His raw passion for physical fitness and weight lighting inspired many generations. Stanley loved to sing, host and toast and initiated group songs in times of celebration and honor. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Location) 519-253-7234 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E on Thursday June 2, 2016 from 7-9 pm and Friday June 3, 2016 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. A Veterans Service under the auspices of the Windsor Veterans Services Committee will be held at 4:00 pm. Parish Prayers at 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 8:15 am from the Funeral Home to Holy Trinity Polish Church for a Funeral Mass at 9:00 am. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, donations may be made in memory of Stanley to Windsor Veterans Services Committee, Windsor-Essex County Humane Society, or Children"s Aid Society.
